SEARCHING FOR MASUMI

20070414080950.jpgIt has been over a year since Masumi Watanabe was abducted and murdered on Oahu. Her body has still not been found, despite hundreds of hours of searching by the HPD SWAT Team, K-9 unit, homicide division, helicopter and underwater units, DLNR officials, HFD Rescue unit, a volunteer hiking club (Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club) and numerous individuals.

The following areas have been searched according to media reports: Pupukea, Kahana Valley, Waimea Valley, Kaneohe, Nuuanu Pali Drive, Manoa, Kualoa Ranch, Maunawiliwili and the Waiahole Valley

(Oahu Search Map).New%20Map22.jpg

The Honolulu Police Department does not recommend individuals to independently search for Masumi because of the hazards and danger in the mountainous terrain on Oahu. Body recovery efforts have ceased until further credible information comes in.

Finding Masumi Watanabe's body is dependent on an individual coming forward with specific information they know of or someone who can recollect seeing the convicted murderer, his company's truck, or his personal truck in a specific area and time between April 12-15, 2007 on Oahu.
